What is NIOS?

The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), formerly known as the National Open School, is an independent National Level Board of Education in India, established in the year 1989 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development and the Government of India.
The primary objective of the NIOS board is to provide primary, secondary, vocational, and life skills education to a diverse group of learners, including those who are specially or differently abled.
Recognized by the Human Resource Development Department of the Government of India, the NIOS board holds equal value as the courses offered by other recognized state or national educational boards, such as CISCE and CBSE.
The Butterfly Learnings NIOS study center in Dombivli allows students to pursue their education at their own pace and schedule, while also teaching important life skills, which include vocational training, academic knowledge, and functional skills.
